Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! Ms. Hall Teaches English is your one-stop site to find everything related to my Language Arts classes.
Navigate using the top menu bar to go to pages…OR find content related posts by selecting a category to the left.
You’ll also find new announcements here on the main page.
PARENTS–I welcome your participation! Please subscribe to the blog using the link at the left, and you’ll receive notifications whenever the page is updated. I also welcome parents to join my REMIND classes–you’ll receive periodic important text messages (completely anonymized) so that you can help your student be successful–these are generally reminders about special materials to bring to class the next day, or for an upcoming quiz or test.
MORE FOR PARENTS: I’ve provided your child with an in-class set of supplies (a plastic folder, a spiral notebook, a journal, a pen, and a pencil). In order to offset my out-of-pocket expenses, I would greatly appreciate a return donation in the amount of $4 per student. Send cash to school with your student, or use the handy PayPal button located at the bottom of this page.
STUDENTS: I’m so excited to get to know each and every one of you this year, and to help you move forward through your language arts classes. We’re going to read and write and listen and explore and research and discover and laugh and cry…(well, it’ll probably just be ME crying, but you never know…) We’re going to delve into literature and learn about new people and places; we’re going to examine the words authors use to describe the experience of being human; we’re going to watch movies based on timeless literature as well as innovative experimental works; and we’re going to perfect all of the skills you’ll need to be a successful person out in the 21st century! It’s going to be a blast, and I can’t wait to get started.
Bookmark this site, add it to your favorites, whatever…but come back here often to smile and learn something new!
Best wishes for a great year…
